Accessibility Statement

This site is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility is treated as a design standard, not an afterthought.

Standards followed

This website is designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines address the needs of people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities, and are the widely accepted standard for accessible web content.

What is in place

  • Semantic HTML supports screen readers and assistive technologies throughout the site.

  • Text contrast meets WCAG AA ratio requirements against its background.

  • The site is fully navigable by keyboard, without requiring a mouse.

  • Layout is responsive and readable across screen sizes, from mobile devices through desktop monitors.

  • Page structure uses proper heading hierarchy so screen readers can navigate content efficiently.

  • Links and buttons are descriptive and indicate their destination or purpose.

  • Color is not used as the sole means of conveying information.

  • The HTML language attribute is set to English to support correct screen reader pronunciation.

  • Forms include accessible labels and clear error messaging where applicable.

  • Animations are subtle and limited. The site respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser and operating system setting, reducing or removing motion for users who request it.

Forms and interactive elements

This site includes an email signup form for the Steady Ground Starter course and email-based inquiry options for speaking and general contact. Form fields are labeled and can be completed with screen readers and keyboard navigation. If you encounter any difficulty submitting a form, please use the contact email below and I will respond personally.

Know limitations

This is an actively maintained site. Where third-party services are embedded (such as Google Fonts or future email or scheduling integrations), accessibility depends partly on those providers. If you encounter content that is difficult to access, that feedback is welcomed and will be acted on.

Feedback

If you experience difficulty accessing any part of this website, or have suggestions for improvement, please contact christy@thedarkhorseadvisory.com. Accessibility feedback is taken seriously and you will receive a response within five business days.
